Stuart J. Whittle, 53, of Suffield, CT, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, on February 14, 2017. Born in Gardner, MA, and raised in Templeton, MA he was the beloved son of Glenn and Gail (Landry) Whittle. He met his true love, Karen Marie (Lajoie) Whittle, as a young teenager and together they enjoyed many wonderful years and memories and enjoyed his days hanging out with the family dog Cooper. Stuart was a talented student with brilliant mathematical and technical abilities. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Western New England University and graduated with his Master's degree in Control Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He became a successful Electrical Engineer and served at UTC for 26 years. Aside from his work, Stuart had a great passion for motocross racing and enjoyed the sport both as a spectator and a competitor. He also enjoyed visiting Mohegan Sun to test his mathematical abilities against his favorite games of chance. Stuart was a kindhearted and generous spirit who enjoyed making friends wherever he went. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father, and brother who loved spending time with his family. He will always be dearly missed by everyone fortunate to have known him. In addition to Karen, his loving wife of over 31 years, Stuart is survived by his two sons, Austin and Zachary Whittle of Suffield; brothers, Scott and Sean Whittle of Templeton, MA; and his sister Cindy Dow, also of Templeton. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 10:00AM at St. Mary's Church, 942 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury. Everyone is kindly asked to meet directly at church in the morning.
