HOLYOKE
Michael J. Bolko, 87, of Holyoke, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Holyoke Health Care Center. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late John and Mary (Pokora) Bolko and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Michael was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, and retired after working for many years as a cable splicer for Nynex. He was a faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. Michael is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Mary L. (McNairn) Bolko; his loving children: Patricia Beauchemin and husband David of Holyoke, Karen Wilkinson and husband Gary of Belchertown, Michael Bolko and wife Maika of Westford, Susan Carmel and husband Bob of Easthampton, and Kelly Przekopowski and husband Jeff of Holyoke; ten grandchildren: Michael, Andrew, John, Joseph, Lauren, Rachel, Rob, Marin, Maia, and Timmy; a great grandson Sam, and several nieces and nephews. The Bolko family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Holyoke Health Care Center for the compassionate care given to Mike. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Michael's Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 14th at 11:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Committal with Military Honors will take place Tuesday, January 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. There are no calling hours.
