HOLYOKE
Mary (Losty) Burgess of Holyoke and Yarmouth Port died peacefully on January 9, 2017, at the Windsor Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility, in South Yarmouth, MA. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late William "Burns" and Irene (Bresnahan) Losty, she attended Holyoke Schools, and worked in the Administrative Office of the Holyoke Hospital. Mary had two sisters, the late Irene Arnold of Holyoke and the late Claire Luis of Montclair, California. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Arthur A. Burgess, who died in 1997. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen M. Baker and her husband, Joel Lagergren, of West Yarmouth, and a son, Michael E. Burgess and his wife, Mary Burgess, of South Yarmouth. She had four grandchildren, Michael Burgess of Holyoke, Patrick M. Baker of Agawam, Corinne E. Sawyer of Wilbraham, and the late Donald A. Baker, Jr., of South Hadley; 8 great grandchildren, 4 great, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, January 14th, 2017, at Blessed Sacrament Church, in Holyoke, with the burial at St Jerome's Cemetery immediately following the service.
