James was born on December 2, 1927 and passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.

James was a resident of Chicopee, Massachusetts at the time of passing.

James graduated from St. Jerome High School in Holyoke in 1945.

He served in the United States Navy after graduating from high school and later joined the South Hadley Police Department.

The funeral will be held Monday, January 7 th at 10:45 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at Saint Patrick Church, 30 Main Street, South Hadley. Burial will follow at Saint Jerome Cemetery in Holyoke. Calling hours will be held Sunday, January 6 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Visitation at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on January 6, 2019.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the South Hadley Recreation Department, 116 Main St. # 103, South Hadley MA 01075.
