Isabel T. (Digris) Foley, 98, went home to our Lord, being reunited with her beloved daughter, Susan. "Belle" died at Christopher House of Worcester on Sunday, January 8, 2017, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Foley is survived by her children. Ann T. Foley of Plainville, CT, Roseanne M. Fratoni of Shrewsbury, MA, Kathleen M. Foley of Hampton, NH, and James J. Foley, Jr. and his wife Eileen from Yarmouthport, MA. Isabel has 4 grandchildren, Susan E. Fratoni and her husband Brian Whitney, Sarah E. Fratoni, Mary K. Foley, and Neil B. Foley, and two great grandchildren, Isabella, her namesake, and Giuliana, as well as many nieces and nephews. She loved them all dearly. She is predeceased by her daughter, Susan E. Foley, her husband James J. Foley, her parents and her siblings Anthony, John, Benedict, and Stanley Digris, Helen (Digris) Greene, and Leonora (Digris) Wells. Belle was born in Gilbertville, MA on August 8, 1918 to Frank and Annie Digris. She graduated from Hardwick High School in 1936 and married James J Foley in 1947. Along with raising five children, Isabel worked at Steiger's Department store for several years and later at Smith College. Mrs. Foley was an avid Red Sox fan. Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski were special favorites. She attended "Yaz" Day at Fenway Park and spoke of it often. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Pitch. But what she loved more than anything was her family. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. The Foley family would like to thank the loving people who took care of Isabel for the past two years at Christopher House. Marceau, Katherine, Sharon, and especially Kathy Desrosiers, along with the rest of the staff were the most genuinely loving people Belle could have had as caretakers. We were all blessed when she entered Christopher House for her last years. The funeral will be held Thursday, January 12th at 10:30 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Christopher House Activity Fund, 10 Mary Scano Dr, Worcester, MA 01605.
