HOLYOKE: Herbert D. Beeler, age 86, of Holyoke, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 13, 2017 at his home. He was born in Chicopee, son of the late Herbert and Myrtle (Warner) Beeler, grew up in Fairview, and was a graduate of Chicopee High School. Mr. Beeler served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two stars, United Nations Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Good Conduct Medal, Navy Occupation Medal Europe/Asia and the Korean Government 50th Anniversary Medal. He worked for many years at the former Gravure Engraving Corporation in Holyoke and other area printing companies. Herb is survived by his wife, Anna Harriet (Brown) Beeler of Holyoke, one daughter, Amy B. Freniere and her husband Robert of Feeding Hills, a granddaughter, Andrea and grandson, Scott of Feeding Hills. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold K. Beeler in 2002. Committal with United States Navy Military Honors will be held Thursday, February 16th at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA. There are no calling hours. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Herb to Dakin Humane Society, P.O.
